Our extensive experience accumulated over the years with the placement of body implants in the buttocks augmentation buttock augmentation , pectoral augmentation o calf augmentation has allowed us to treat other areas of the body with the same approach. The submuscular silicone body implants are very good, cohesive gel and resistant (proof of them is their use in the buttock, an area with great mobility and on which we also sit …). Unlike pectoral, gluteal or calf augmentation, where we have specific implants, there are no implants for other muscles of the extremities. In these cases we use the smooth oval gluteal or calf implants, because their shape adapts to many of the areas to be treated and offers an increase in the width of the appropriate muscle but with a moderate projection, being the submuscular implant that provides the greatest effect of naturalness.
Through a small incision in the medial aspect of the arm, space is made under the muscle and an implant is placed, depending on the arm, the implant is 110 or 200 g.
The incision is made in the groove between the biceps and triceps. We place a calf implant or in some cases, an oval implant, depending on the width of the muscle.
This is a very complicated area because the implant is not stable. If possible we prefer to augment with adipose tissue grafts to improve the contour of the shoulder.
To correct the curve of the thigh and make it straighter we can place a calf implant under the gracilis muscle and/or with fat grafting. The scar from the implant placement remains in the gluteal fold.
An oval submuscular prosthesis of about 200 grams is placed in the anterior rectus to increase the mass of the muscle and its relief. In the vastus lateralis, large oval implants of up to 450 cc can be placed to significantly increase the contour of the thigh.
The incision is hidden in the gluteal fold and the prosthesis is placed under the muscle fascia, above the muscle, to give relief to this area. It is an oval prosthesis, but as it is above the muscle, it can be seen.
The operation is performed under general or locoregional anesthesia and requires a few hours of admission to overnight. After the surgery , it is recommended not to do muscular exercises for at least 5 weeks, in order to favor the correct placement and healing of the implant.
