Treatment

Pectoral augmentation plastic surgery consists of implanting prostheses specially designed for this area, which can even be custom-made. The prostheses available are 180-240 and 300 cc. In order to achieve a natural result, the size is chosen according to the size of the pocket, since all of them offer a similar projection, about 2 cm. A good pectoral augmentation surgeon takes this into account to avoid bad results.

Dr. Benito is a world renowned surgeon for his techniques in cosmetic surgery for men, specifically in muscle augmentation with implants(pectoral augmentation, biceps, triceps, twins, etc). Thanks to his leadership, the first prostheses specially designed for male pectorals were introduced in Spain.

Prosthesis

They are smooth cohesive gel prostheses, with a quadrangular shape that adapts perfectly to the shape of the pectoralis major muscle. As they are made of cohesive gel, they are deformable and allow any sport, including bodybuilding. With this type of implants there is no subsequent functional limitation.

In the pectoral augmentation we place the prosthesis through a small incision, about four or five centimeters, in one of the folds of the armpit. General anesthesia is required. We do not put drains. During the four or five days following the intervention, pain may appear or, most frequently, a feeling of tightness similar to that of a prolonged workout.

Postoperative and recovery

In the first hours we put a bandage that we remove just after discharge from the hospital, which can be a few hours later. Afterwards, a containment bandage must be worn for at least 4 weeks. The physical exercise of musculation of the upper part of the body and impact exercise (running) should be avoided for about six weeks.

Once we verify ultrasonographically that there is no fluid around the implant, training can begin progressively.

In the video on “Male Pectoral Implants”, it is described how Dr. Jesús Benito Ruiz performs the procedure of insertion of pectoral prosthesis in men.

The prosthesis has a specific shape that simulates the volume and contour of a natural pectoral. Depending on the objective and the current shape of the individual’s pectoral, the position of the implant can be adjusted to enhance the desired area. This surgery, which lasts approximately one hour, offers an aesthetic solution to those men who seek to highlight their pectorals without spending years in the gym. However, after the intervention, it is recommended not to do sports for 6 weeks. The implant experience aims to make men feel more satisfied and confident with the appearance of their torso.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pectoral implants are safe and durable but like all implants may eventually require replacement if wear and tear of the implant shell occurs.

The operation is relatively simple and is performed through a small incision in the armpit. In 4 or 5 days you can drive but you must avoid physical work and exercise with the pectorals for 6 weeks.

Yes, after pectoral implant surgery, scars will be left in the treated area. However, these scars are usually minimal and can be concealed with clothing. The incisions are strategically placed in the natural folds of the body (armpit) and are made with careful suturing techniques to minimize the appearance of scars. In addition, over time, these scars tend to fade and become less visible.

Yes, pectoral augmentation surgery can be an option for transsexual men who wish to enhance the appearance of their chest and achieve a more masculine appearance. However, it is important that each patient is evaluated individually and the most appropriate treatment plan for their specific case is discussed. Pectoral augmentation surgery for transgender men is often performed as part of a larger gender reassignment process, and it is important that patients have realistic expectations about the results and the potential risks and complications associated with the surgery.

Of course! With modern plastic surgery techniques and the right implants, it is possible to achieve very natural and realistic results with a pectoral augmentation. The key is to work closely with the patient to determine the appropriate size and shape of the implants, and to place them in a way that suits the patient’s proportions and physical characteristics. As a plastic surgeon, my goal is always to achieve results that are harmonious and balanced with the patient’s body, which includes making sure the implants look as natural as possible.

The placement of pectoral implants in men generally does not affect muscle function or the ability to exercise. However, it is important that patients follow postoperative instructions carefully and avoid strenuous exercise for the first few weeks after surgery to allow the implants to settle properly. After recovery, patients can return to their normal physical activities without any restrictions. In addition, it is important to note that implants do not improve muscle strength and that it is recommended to continue a regular and healthy exercise regimen to maintain good physical and mental health.
