Launching new project on health 2.0

Yes, we are launching it with this first post. Certainly all these years, the AGB related websites have been very well positioned, highly valued for their rich content and the way medical procedures are clearly explained to the patient. And yet, we felt we had to go one step further.

It was not only about designing and releasing a new website but also and most importantly that it fully integrates and supports the open and inclusive approach we had in mind.

And we got down to it. We handed that stage over Ubikuos, as part of an overall community and conversation project they presented to us, who collaborated with Espira Tecnologías, a development and web design studio in Alicante. They have created more than a web: a place where we open to the rest of the world all we know, think and experience on the fields of plastic surgery, aesthetic medicine and antiaging medicine.

Obviously, current applications of so-called ‘social web’ greatly facilitate this process. What it was once impossible, now it is simple. The conversation existed, not just in the so-called Web 2.0 networks, but also at good old traditional forums, and some, such as enfemenino.com, are truly sources of conversation among patients where they share questions, concerns and advice. And we wanted those same things to happen here as well, and much more.

Indeed, not only can you comment on the treatments available, but we will also use this blog as a real platform for AGB interaction with patients, professionals, and specialized media. A blog where beyond the news of our company (also included, of course), we talk about events, conferences, where we share our thoughts and views on certain issues, describe cases of patients, complications and how to solve them, success stories, best practices, etc. and we have already prepared some activities for patients to engage in conversation. We are ambitious and we know it will be a slow process, because the first thing we must do is learn from others, and listen, and propose our activities while we keep listening (as Ubikuos won’t stop telling us). But we think it is a waste if everything is locked in within a company or its small expertise circles.

Also our aim is to give our field the importance it deserves, beyond the superficial appearance that it is attributed in some certain scenarios.We believe in the importance for everyone to feel good about themselves, internally and externally and we have always reflected that in our daily practice, being honest, giving the right treatment when required. So we want to create quality content that not only shows our work in this field but to help anyone interested in maki tong decisions, to know in more detail, to communicate with us.

As explained here, we are driven by WHO’s definition of health: Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

And so one of the sections we’ll set is Wellness, with regularly advice to help you improve your / our quality of life.

But we would like to combine it this with a famous quote by poet Ralph Waldo Emerson: Love of beauty is Taste. The creation of beauty is Art.
